ST. PATRICK’S DAY UNDERGROUND LINESKIP

Nothing brings people together like a good time. Queen’s Kenya Help partnered with an on-campus dance venue to raise money for the construction of a Women’s Empowerment Center in Ngong, Kenya.



INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION
March 8th, 2017
On International Women's Day, Queen's Kenya Help, Play Like A Girl at Queen's, Queen's Helping Haiti, Queen's Health Outreach, and Girls Inc. at Queen's held an evening celebrating women's empowerment. Kenya Help founder Nancy Stevens discussed the development and construction of a Women's Empowerment Center in Ngong, Kenya. Play Like A Girl at Queen's and Girls Inc. at Queen's led an interactive workshop on mental and physical empowerment. Queen's Health Outreach discussed education as a means of empowerment, and Queen's Helping Haiti discussed current efforts to provide Haitian mothers with vital skills such as infant CPR. The night ended with a mindfulness yoga glass, pizza, and coffee.



MOVIE NIGHT: THE FIRST GRADER
November 10th, 2016
Queen’s Kenya Help and members of the Queen’s community took a study break by checking out the critically acclaimed biographical drama film, “The First Grader”. This documentary follows an 84-year-old Kenyan in his fight for his right to attend school for the first time and receive the education he previously could not afford.



OPEN MIC NIGHT AT COGRO
March 31st, 2016
Performers came together at the Common Ground Coffeehouse to raise money for Queen’s Kenya Help. The donations went towards supplies for a Women’s Empowerment Centre and a brand-new Health Clinic.
